Relativity Co-CEO Ryan Kavanaugh is a longtime philanthropist involved in a number of charitable causes around the world. He serves as chairman emeritus of The Art of Elysium, an organization focused on helping actors, musicians, and artists donate their time and talents to children with serious medical conditions. At the 2014 Night Before Gala, Ryan Kavanaugh raised $2 million onstage for The Art of Elysium, in addition to $1 million for the Los Angeles Ballet.

Ryan Kavanaugh was born to a Jewish family in Los Angeles, California, where he was raised in the Brentwood neighborhood, and attended Brentwood High School. His mother, Leslie(Levin), is a real estate broker, and his father, Jack Konitz, a dentist turned businessman, was born in Germany and later changed his surname to"Kavanaugh" before his son's birth.
